Placement and prerequisites
Students entering Grade 9 complete a short academic assessment covering mathematics, reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary. This is not a pass or fail test — it helps us place students correctly and identify where extra support would help.
Students entering Grades 10, 11 or 12 are assessed on their previous academic records and completion of the relevant prerequisite courses.
Fees for the current academic year
| Grade | Tuition per credit | Maximum credits per term |
|---|---|---|
| Grade 9 | $500 | 3 |
| Grade 10 | $500 | 3 |
| Grade 11 | $500 | 3 |
| Grade 12 | $500 | 3 |
Tuition is charged per credit, to a maximum of 3 credits per term. A non-refundable registration fee of $50 applies to all applications. Textbooks may be rented for $10 per book and must be returned at the end of term. All amounts in Canadian dollars. See our refund policy.
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition
PLAR allows students to earn Ontario secondary school credits for knowledge and skills gained outside a traditional classroom — through work experience, training programmes, independent study or education in another country. There are two routes:
Challenge
Demonstrate existing knowledge of a Grade 10, 11 or 12 course through assessment, and earn the credit without completing the full course.
Equivalency
Have transcripts and coursework from another education system evaluated against the Ontario curriculum, with credits granted where studies are judged equivalent.
